Guadalindie, Announces Speakers Lineup, Including Immortality, Among Us, Katamari Developers

Attendees will be able to play over 80 indie games, learn from industry professionals, and take part in networking sessions.

Málaga, March 14, 2025 – Guadalindie, the South of Europe and Spain’s reference indie video game event, has officially revealed its full lineup of speakers, bringing together some of the most influential voices in the indie gaming world. This year’s event will feature renowned industry professionals leading talks and workshops, including Sam Barlow (Immortality), Keita Takahashi (Katamari), Victoria Tran (Among UsVenbaUnpackingKai Moore & Johanna Kasurinen (Mouthwashing), Paula Fingerspit (The Cosmic Wheel SisterhoodThe Red Strings Club), Gareth Damian Martin (Citizen Sleeper), Lu Nascimento (Moonglow BayAssemble with Care) and Jan Willem & Kitty Calis (Nuclear ThroneMinitHorizon: Zero Dawn) among many others. 

Tickets are already on sale for both industry professionals and the general public.

Beyond the incredible lineup of speakers, Guadalindie connects game developers with top international publishers, including Critical Reflex (Arctic Eggs, Mouthwashing),  Devolver Digital, Raw Fury, and women-led funding initiative Wings. With 20+ hours of talks and roundtables, plus opportunities to network with 80+ exhibitors—from indie studios to major game companies—Guadalindie 2025 is the must-attend event for anyone passionate about indie games.

Organised by MálagaJam, a non-profit dedicated to supporting indie game development in Southern Spain, Guadalindie is also backed by Málaga's City Hall FYCMA. The full list of speakers can be found below:

 
  • Sam Barlow – Creator and Director of games such as ‘Immortality’, ‘Telling Lies’, and ‘Her Story’.

  • Keita Takahashi - Creator of the ‘Katamari’ franchise and games such as  de juegos ‘Noby Noby Boy’, ‘Wattam’ or the upcoming ‘To a T’.

  • Mark Brown - Games developer and journalist creator of ‘Game Maker’s Toolkit’.

  • Paula ‘fingerspit’ - Music & SFX at Deconstructeam.

  • Jan Willem - Founder of Vlambeer and creator of games such as ‘Nuclear Throne’, ‘Luftrausers’, ‘Minit’ and ‘Disc Room’.

  • Kitty Calis - Artist and developer who has worked in games such as ‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’, ‘Minit’ and ‘Disc Room’.

  • Victoria Tran - Communications Director at Innersloth (Among Us creators), co-director of the indie games fund Outersloth. Worked in games such as ‘Venba’, ‘Unpacking’ and ’Dwarf Fortress’.

  • Kai Moore - Co-founder and Executive producer of Wrong Organ, the studio that created the acclaimed indie horror game ‘Mouthwashing’.

  • Johanna Kasurinen - Co-founder, narrative designer and art director of Wrong Organ, the studio that created the acclaimed indie horror game ‘Mouthwashing’.

  • Gareth Damian Martin - Writer, game designer and artist creator of the ‘Citizen Sleeper’ series and ‘In Other Waters’. Also created and publishes ‘Heterotopias’, a magazine about games and architecture. 

  • Lu Nascimento - Art director of Bunnyhug Games. Worked in games such as ‘Moonglow Bay’, ‘Overthrown’, ‘Wargroove’ and ‘Assemble With Care’.

  • Mirella Díez - Senior Audio Designer at ZA/UM.

  • Afry Curiel - Senior Narrative Designer that worked at Nomada Studio, Ubisoft and Splash Damage.

  • Arnaud de Bock - Indie games developer with more than a decade 's experience in game design. Known for ‘Pikiniku’ and for having worked also in ‘Reigns’, ‘Card Shark’ and ‘Crush House’.

  • Johan Peitz -  Creator of the low poly modelator picoCAD as well as the cult classic ‘Icy Tower’. Currently is the director at Apskeppet, where he creates small games with big pixels.

  • Sara Lopez Productions - Soundtrack composer that has worked in games such as ‘Blasphemous II’s DLC ‘Mea Culpa’ and ‘Human Fall Flat’.

  • Ciro Montenegro - Game engine developer at King who has dedicated his last 8 years to create development engines of his own.

  • AnaitGames - Video games media that runs the popular and acclaimed ‘Podcast Reload’.

About Guadalindie

Guadalindie has the goal of promoting Spanish talent coming from independent games creators, to be a worldwide meeting point to indie developers and position the city of Málaga as a highlighted place of talent, industry and video games culture both nationally and globally; also has as a main objective to provide visibility to women, non-binary and underrepresented backgrounds people that are part of the gaming industry, thus trying to expand the gender, racial and themes diversity within video games.

Guadalindie is an event co-organised both by MálagaJam and Málaga's City Hall FYCMA. MálagaJam is the non profit developers association of Málaga, that fosters the culture and professionalization of the games industry in the south of Spain.
