Challenge Mode adds rhythm-game mechanics for longer practices, more fun, and a great workout

March 3, 2025 – Today, Dance Reality, the studio behind the first augmented reality app designed to help people learn to dance, launched a highly anticipated update to The New Salsa Academy, VR’s best salsa dancing school. The update introduces Challenge Mode, an exciting new way to experience partner dancing with longer, full-length choreographies set to music by Latin Grammy-nominated DJ Ricky Campanelli. The New Salsa Academy is currently available in early access on the Meta Horizon Store for $19.99. 
 

 

The New Salsa Academy remains the first and only VR dance app that integrates expert dance instruction, AI-powered motion analysis, and rhythm-based gameplay. With Challenge Mode, players can enjoy an even more dynamic, engaging and competitive dance experience. Whether leading or following, they face real-time feedback through an advanced motion analysis system, rating each move as Perfect, Good, or Missed, with multipliers for streaks of accuracy. It's a fun way to enjoy the music, refine technique, and stay active—all while dancing to great tracks from popular artists.
