FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
South Wales, UK, 14 October 2026 — Deceptive Games Ltd, the independent studio behind The Initiate series and Silent Descent, has announced that its first-person horror escape-room game, ESCAPE: The Cabin, will launch on PC via Steam on 5 November 2026. A free demo is available to download now, ahead of the game’s participation in Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October.
Players awaken inside a remote wooden cabin with no memory of how they arrived. Finding a way out means searching for concealed compartments, inspecting objects and solving puzzles while uncovering the identity of their captor and the reasons behind their imprisonment.
The full game features more than 70 puzzles, with randomised clues, item locations and solutions that change between playthroughs. Players must examine the evidence each time they return, making observation and deduction essential even after a successful escape.
Players can pick up, inspect, combine and dismantle objects as they work through the cabin’s interconnected puzzles. Challenges range from deciphering codes and opening safes to repairing machinery and uncovering hidden pathways, with clues scattered throughout the environment.
“Randomise the puzzles, the clues and the solutions, and suddenly every run is a new escape room,” said Gavin Powell, Managing Director and Game Director at Deceptive Games Ltd.
Players can try the free demo ahead of Steam Next Fest and add the full game to their wishlist through the ESCAPE: The Cabin Steam page.
