LONDON, UK — 9TH DECEMBER, 2025 — Today, Ubisoft unveiled the official launch trailer for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ – From the Ashes, spotlighting the expansion’s formidable antagonists and their motivations. Available on 19th December on Ubisoft+, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna*, and PC via Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam, the From the Ashes expansion presents players with a much more hostile Western Frontier and Ravaged Kinglor Forest.
Developed by Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft Studio** in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, the expansion will have players facing a fearsome warband of Mangkwan raiders, also known as the Ash Clan, whose defiance of Eywa and commitment to wiping out the Resistance plays a central role in shaping the narrative and driving the key conflicts in the Western Frontier. The trailer showcases the Ash Clan’s striking visual identity: scarification, piercings, and bold bands of red and black paint, the essence of their scorched homeland. This stark aesthetic signals a radical departure from the clan’s players have encountered before, underscoring the expansion’s darker tone.
So’lek’s history with the Ash Clan runs deep. Years ago, he clashed with Wukula, a Mangkwan warrior, in a brutal encounter that left him scarred and vengeful, setting the stage for their unfinished battle in From the Ashes. Alongside Wukula stands Zari, a deadly sniper trained by the RDA, blind in one eye yet lethal with her human rifle and RDA gear. Her rivalry with Wukula adds layers of intrigue to the expansion’s story. The trailer also showcases Rakx, the most sadistic Mangkwan raider, who cruelly utilises ikrans in her violence.
“For the first time, players will experience Na’vi versus Na’vi combat in dramatic boss encounters,” said Omar Bouali, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment. “These battles against Mangkwan raiders deliver on one of our community’s biggest requests: more variety and intensity in combat.”
The trailer also teases new RDA innovations, including hellhounds; canine robots first introduced in Avatar: The High Ground™ graphic novel, alongside Skel suits and AMP suit variants equipped for sniper and shotgun warfare. These additions amplify the danger across Pandora’s skies and forests, creating a world more hostile than ever before.
Fans will also glimpse Major Tyler Bukowski, an officer first introduced in the comic series Avatar: The Gap Year — Tipping Point™. Bukowski’s deep knowledge of Na’vi culture and ruthless tactics make him a compelling new figure of power, leading the RDA-Ash Clan offensive into the Western Frontier to hunt down the Resistance and its Sarentu allies with particular attention paid to So’lek.
From the Ashes expands the saga with returning allies, building upon clans backstories like the Wind Traders, and emotional story beats that deepen So’lek’s journey of survival and vengeance. The expansion is available as a standalone purchase or as part of the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: From the Ashes Edition, which includes the main game, the expansion and the Floating Mountains bonus content.
Players can already enjoy a major free Title Update for the main game of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which launched on 5th December. This update introduces two of the most requested features from the community: New Game+ and a long-awaited third-person view, offering a fresh perspective and replayability of the main game for fans eager to experience Pandora in new ways.
