(Oct. 15, 2026) – Today publisher Serenity Forge (To the Moon, LISA, Fractured Blooms) and developer Freebird Games launched A Bird Story on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and XBOX for $3.99, with free Steam updates. Created by Kan Gao, the creator behind the To the Moon series, A Bird Story is an hour, wordless interactive pixel animation about a young boy and an injured bird. In A Bird Story, a young boy comes across a bird being attacked by a badger and steps in to rescue it. He soon discovers that the bird has injured its wing and brings it home to care for it. As they spend their days together while the bird recovers, a quiet friendship begins to take shape, bringing warmth gradually reshaping the boy’s otherwise solitary world. Shifting between small everyday moments and dreamlike scenes, A Bird Story follows their time together in a story of companionship that leaves a lasting impression.
Unlike Freebird Games’ other narrative titles, A Bird Story tells its story without text or dialogue. Instead, its narrative moves forward through visual storytelling alone with interactive pixel animation conveying its details and emotions in every scene.
