CHANTILLY, FRANCE – April 8, 2025 – [2.21], the independent studio behind Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest, is proud to announce the development of Little Big Adventure – Purple Empire, the next instalment of the iconic action-adventure series originally created by Frédérick Raynal.
Following the successful launch of Twinsen’s Quest - the remake of Little Big Adventure / Relentless - Twinsen’s Adventure - on PC and consoles in November 2024, [2.21] now turns its full creative force toward second chapter of Twinsen’s journey: the remake of Little Big Adventure 2 / Twinsen’s Odyssey.
“The reception for Twinsen’s Quest confirmed that this universe still resonates deeply,” said Ben Limare, CEO and co-founder of [2.21]. “With Purple Empire, we’re pushing further”.
Purple Empire will feature redesigned controls, a brand new art direction, and modern gameplay enhancements—while preserving the eccentric spirit of the original. Developed hand-in-hand with Didier Chanfray, series co-creator and original art director, the game revisits unforgettable locations like the Emerald Moon and the alien planet Zeelich.
“We’re not making a nostalgic replica,” said Chanfray. “Purple Empire is a reinvention that honors the soul of the game while evolving it. Being indie means we answer only to the game, the players, and the legacy we helped create.”
Twinsen returns in an interplanetary adventure across Zeelich—a surreal world under the rule of a pompous emperor with cosmic ambitions. Master magic, outsmart bizarre foes, and uncover a galactic conspiracy in a whimsical, danger-filled odyssey where absurdity meets epic stakes.
As part of its community-first philosophy, [2.21] has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Ko‑fi to involve fans directly in the development journey.
