gamescom 2020: online Ticket Shop is open

gamescom online Ticket Shop open as of 11 March +++ Being quick pays off: price advantage with early bird ticket +++ New: After-school ticket – reduced admission after 4:00 p.m. +++ gamescom forest: plant trees with the green ticket

The start of gamescom is getting closer – in five months (25–29 August 2020), the largest games event in the world will be opening its doors. The online Ticket Shop is now open – as of 11 March 2020, trade and private visitors alike can purchase their gamescom ticket online. Better be quick because in 2020 there will also be an allotment of early bird tickets in all categories. New this year is the green ticket as well as the after-school ticket, which replaces the evening ticket. Tickets are available only in the official online Ticket Shop at www.gamescom.global

Day ticket for private visitors
The day ticket for private visitors are available in the gamescom online Ticket Shop while supplies last. That means you again need to be quick so you can experience the latest games and other highlights at gamescom. This year as well, there will be an early bird allotment for all days so visitors can secure their day ticket at an especially attractive price. Once this allotment runs out, the regular advance sale prices will apply. The public transport ticket will be sent in a separate email and entitles the holder to travel to and from gamescom during the specified period with the extended network of the Rhine-Sieg transport system (VRS) and Rhine-Ruhr transport system (VRR). The following applies for all private visitor tickets: a maximum of five tickets per person can be purchased.

NEW: After-school ticket – reduced admission not just for students
After the successful pilot launch of the evening tickets in 2019, reduced price tickets will also be available this year for the public days. The after-school ticket grants visitors of all ages admission to gamescom from 4 to 8 p.m., saving them over 60 percent compared to the regular day ticket. Previous years have shown that many day visitors leave the grounds in the afternoon or conclude the gamescom day in one of the event areas. 0This means that the chances of getting to the game stations faster is higher in the later afternoon.

Act sustainably: contribute to the gamescom forest
A new sustainability project is being launched for the 12th edition of the world’s biggest event for computer and video games: gamescom together with its project partner Treemer is building a climate-resilient mixed forest of at least 10,000 m² near Bayreuth – the gamescom forest. For an additional EUR 1.00, all gamescom visitors can actively contribute to the reforestation with the green ticket and help the gamescom forest grow. gamescom will match each euro until an additional 12,000 m² of forest can be planted. The plan is for each euro to continue to go to the expansion of the forest. devcom, the developer conference of gamescom, will also be offering a green ticket and in so doing support the reforestation of the gamescom forest together with visitors.

Earlier admission with the pre-entry ticket
This year, there will once again be a limited allotment of pre-entry tickets for the first two public days. Visitors will get an hour head start for admission to the entertainment area together with the trade visitors at 9:00 a.m. This ticket is also only available while supplies last. To ensure early admission, pre-entry ticket holders are requested to use only Entrance North or Entrance South.

School trip to gamescom with the school class ticket
This year, the school class ticket is especially attractive. At the start of gamescom 2020, schools in many German states will already have started again, including in North Rhine-Westphalia. The school class ticket makes it possible for school groups to attend gamescom in Cologne at a reduced price. The special ticket costs EUR 6.50/person (students and accompanying persons) and is valid for the public days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (26, 27 and 28 August). Thanks to numerous educational and media education offerings, such as the gamescom campus, the Jugendforum NRW or gamescom jobs & careers, learning content and fun can be perfectly combined.  Interested schools and teachers can obtain information on  www.gamescom.de/schulklassen .  It is possible to order school class tickets until 31 July 2020. At least ten people (incl. accompanying persons) per class must participate. A teacher may only place an order for a complete group. However, the contingent of school class tickets is also limited: they are only available as long as supplies last. Reservation is not possible.

Early bird special for trade visitors
Trade visitor tickets for all gamescom days are now available in the online Ticket Shop at www.gamescom.de. This applies to the 3-day ticket as well as the individual day tickets for Tuesday to Saturday. Trade visitors can also purchase admission tickets at reduced prices: a limited early bird ticket allotment is available for all trade visitor days. Tickets are not transferable to other persons.
