Slovenia-based video game developer Triternion announced that Tencent Holdings Ltd., one of the world’s leading technology companies, has made a minority investment in the company.
Founded in 2017, Triternion developed the medieval slasher game, MORDHAU, releasing the PC version in 2019. The game, which has sold over two million units, features 64 players in brutal combat across stunning dark-age landscapes. The PlayStation and Xbox versions are due for release soon.
“Tencent’s investment will allow us to keep building on the success of MORDHAU and grow the game across other platforms. On top of this, it will help expand our team and accelerate the development and launch of new IP,” said Triternion Chief Executive Officer Marko Grgurovic.
Triternion boasts over 20 experienced developers on a growing team based at its Ljubljana headquarters. The game development studio is already working on new titles, which will build on the success of MORDHAU and its experience in creating compelling and intense gaming experiences.
