Mixed Reality Party Game Grokit Rings In The Holidays With Its Winter Blast Update

Grokit is a hand tracking multiplayer mixed reality game aimed at rapid fire interactions. Inspired by WarioWare™ and Mario Party™, it was released for the Meta Quest platform in September 2023. Now developer 3lb Games gets into the Holiday spirit with Grokit’s new Winter Blast update, available to play right now!

The entire game has received a makeover for the holiday season, redesigning every microgame with Yuletide stylings while also adding new festive cosmetics and elements. Players engage in a series of fun competitions for top scores and trophies.

Microgames include:

Santa Claws - pop your presents open with razor sharp claws, but don’t break the ornaments!

Snow Blast - shoot snowballs at the targets at rapid speed!

Holiday Forces - decorate the tree with your designated ornament using telekinesis!

Jingle Boom - Hot Potato with grenades, but shiny grenades!

Gift Feeder - deliver presents through the windows that appear as portals in your play space!

In addition to the restyled games, Winter Blast brings a new snow capped virtual reality environment, multiple accessories for player avatars, and a new wintry soundtrack to ring in the new year!

The game’s passthrough mode is now an overlay on your environment selection. What does this mean? You can select both passthrough and an environment, and have elements of the environment appear in passthrough. Have some snow in your living room!

Grokit has been heralded as one of the best mixed reality games available by multiple popular VR content creators like Nathie, Rhys Da King, Tetiana Disco, and Matteo311. The game is built from the ground up to leverage more of what the new hardware can do, and doing it in a fun way. It's got mixed reality with passthrough and scene understanding, and is designed for hand tracking. Scene understanding allows the game to interact with the players’ real life furniture and walls for collisions and positioning. Hand tracking allows for direct interactions, with no need to deal with controllers.

Grokit is currently available for Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 2 via App Lab.
