France, February 17th, 2025 - Hats and guns, a Slay the Spire inspired roguelite deckbuilder with tactical elements was announced on steam recently. It is set in a Western style environment filled with surprising and fun events dusting the good old far west archetypes while giving tribute to some of its main movies. Shoot, fight, face surprising events, upgrade your gear and overcome fearless outlaws in this Western adventure!
Slay the Spire and such inspired many games and Hats and Guns doesn’t hide Mega Crit’s hit influence on its gameplay. The map, the shop and events are here, but the latter will cause many moral dilemma to players, alongside interesting loot.
But what’s new in this game is its combat system: rather than a classic card game, you will have to fight your way out of a grid where enemies are waiting for you in turn-based combat. Your cards will help you get rid of them, associated with your guns and fists.
Four playable characters, a dozen weapons and around one hundred card upgrades are to be discovered in this adventure smelling gunpowder and desert warmth. There are only 5 cards : Accuracy to improve… Well… Your accuracy, Strength for close combat, Speed to move your character around, Reflex to draw cards and Dexterity to switch weapons or reload.
Each character has different decks and weapons, offering replayability and different game styles. In development, the game should release a demo around March. But we are looking for beta testers right now!
