Throughout Tchia’s gameplay series, we’ve seen how players will be able to spend their time exploring the island, the various tools they’ll have at their disposal and the places they’ll explore. For today’s finale though, developer Awaceb is winding down with a look at some of Tchia’s more laid-back content: cosmetic items and the game’s fully-functioning film camera.
Once they hop into the game’s world, players will be able to customize Tchia, the game’s heroine, with a variety of hairstyles, clothes, and face paints, including modern streetwear and more traditional outfits inspired by New Caledonian culture. Some wackier outfits (including a full-on pirate getup or a crab suit), can also be purchased with items found around the game’s world. Whatever cosmetics you unlock through your time in Tchia, you’ll be able to mix and match each piece of clothing for the ultimate island-trekking outfit.

Once players have their perfect outfits picked out, they can flaunt their fashion with Tchia’s fully functional film camera. Designed as a fun analog mechanic that replicates its real-life counterpart, players can pick from a selection of film types for different looks, set the lens’ focus and even set the camera up on a tripod with a timer for some nostalgic selfie action. Of course, shooting on film means you’ll also have to develop your photos to see what’s been snapped. In Tchia, this is just another way players will be able to find some joy in the little things.

Tchia will release on March 21, 2023 for PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Tchia will also be available on day 1 on PS+ Extra and Premium.
