CHICKENHARE IP TO ARRIVE IN VIDEO GAME FORM WITH ‘CHIBIPHOENIX’ AS A CO-PRODUCTION PARTNER

- Game developer N-Zone partners ChibiPhoenix on two games, ‘Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking Beard’ and ‘Megagum’ -

SOFIA, BULGARIA - 16 APRIL 2025 - ChibiPhoenix, a pioneering creator and distributor of games and user-generated content, has announced its co-production partnership with Belgian video game company and developer N-Zone on two new video games, including the forthcoming addition to the Chickenhare franchise. 

The 3D adventure platformer ‘Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking Beard’ is set to be released on Steam, Switch and PS5 later this year. It follows the 2022 release of nWave Studio’s animated feature ‘Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness’, which has delighted audiences across the world thanks to international Netflix distribution. A sequel, ‘Chickennhare and the Secret of the Groundhog' will be released in movie theatres this year. 

ChibiPhoenix’s announcement reflects the growing intersection of entertainment IP across mediums, where audiences can engage with their favorite characters and franchises regardless of the platform. As well as providing finance to license the IP for use as a video game, ChibiPhoenix is taking a new approach to game distribution by actively involving the creative community with Treasure of Spiking Beard’s release.

Artists, designers, and storytellers will be able to design digital comics, 2D and 3D artworks, and create fan made games related to ‘Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking Beard’ through AMILOVA, a truly collaborative UGC platform for games and comics. Set to support games in 2026, AMILOVA will also allow creators to easily create and monetize their work.  

The second project to arise from the co-production partnership is ‘Megagum’, planned to be released on PC and consoles in the second half of 2025. The 3D platformer will see players explore the exciting but not-so-sweet world of confectionery in this original IP. Both games will be released on AMILOVA in 2026.

ChibiPhoenix has operated within the video games industry since 2006, both as a co-production partner and self-publisher of its signature RPG titles Manga RPG and Amour Agents. In March 2025, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, ChibiPhoenix announced the upcoming arrival of games to its AMILOVA platform.
