FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alcoy, Spain - October 28, 2026 - Independent developers mc2games and Mameshiba Games today announced that their trivia roguelike Are You Smarter Than a Troll? will launch on Steam in early 2027. A demo is coming soon.
Players choose a hero and climb the Troll’s tower, battling monsters and overcoming challenges to claim his treasure. Combat revolves around trivia questions: correct answers let players attack, while incorrect answers allow enemies to strike back.
The game combines classic trivia with roguelike strategy and build customization. Players collect artifacts and combine skills to increase damage, apply poison, or strengthen their defenses. Skills allow players to remove wrong answers, apply buffs and debuffs and more, while energy management and decisions about how to spend gold add a strategic layer alongside general knowledge.
Key Features
• Battle through trivia questions across 11 categories, including video games, TV and movies, science, history, music, and more.
• Play as the Warrior, Wizard, or Thief, each with unique skills and a different playstyle.
• Combine skills, artifacts and items to create powerful builds and turn the odds in your favor.
• Adapt to monsters that hide answers, replace your skills, or burn away the question while you're reading it. The Troll considers all of this perfectly fair.
• Take on Ascension challenges with new rules for each hero. Complete all three heroes’ challenges to unlock the way to the Troll himself.
