Acrylic Pixel, aka Chris Jarvis (a UK based indie game developer) has revealed Little Ghosties, a cozy, minimalist idle pet simulator currently in prototype for PC via Steam. Combining charming ghost-raising gameplay with a clean, unobtrusive desktop experience, Little Ghosties invites players to hatch, raise, and care for a family of tiny ghosts.
Players can interact with their ghosts to keep them happy, feed them, accessorize them, and unlock new islands, or simply let them play while the game runs in the background. The game features a gentle, calming aesthetic with soft colors and simple, minimalistic UI, designed to blend seamlessly with a user’s workspace.
Little Ghosties will appeal to fans of games like Ropuko’s Idle Island or Rusty’s Retirement.
Little Ghosties offers:
- Hatch and Raise Ghosts: Grow ghosts from Egg → Wisp → Juvenile → Fully Grown.
- Collect Unique Ghosts: Discover common and rare types, each with distinct designs.
- Ectoplasm Economy: Gather ghost pellets to unlock new eggs and expand your ghost family.
- Active or Idle Play: Keep your ghosts engaged for extra currency, or let them relax while you work.
- Cosmetic Customization & Islands: Dress up ghosts and unlock new environments.
Music for the game will be composed by Matt Parisi of Studio Chimp, known for his work on Ten Bells. Art direction is supported by Vin Hill, with whom Chris Jarvis co-created Ten Bells. Chris is currently working with Vin on his latest hotly anticipated game, Long Gone, a pixel-art zombie adventure.
At this stage, Little Ghosties is available as a prototype to select creators to gather feedback and generate Steam wishlists. Acrylic Pixel plans to offer a playable demo in the near future.
