The official trailer for Ashen Knights: One Passage invites all players to take part in a whirlwind of isometric hack’n’slash & souls-lite battles

The trailer is already available on YouTube and other Ashen Knights platforms. The free prologue will be available for playing on Steam on August 17, 2023.

August 2, 2023 — Baykal Arts, a small indie development studio, releases the official trailer for the prologue to their debut project: an isometric action called Ashen Knights: Foreshadow, which merges two genres — souls-lite and hack’n’slash. Named Ashen Knights: One Passage, the prologue will go live and become available to all Steam players on August 17, 2023.

 

Ashen Knights: One Passage is a full-scale free mini-game set in a grim dark fantasy world. Anyone who plays it will get a chance to experience all the features of the full game, from genre interchange to boss fights and controller support.
 

Here is what Deniz, the lead game designer on the project, says about the upcoming release: “One Passage is a concentrated dose of the game. Play it at breakneck speed or explore it slowly, thoughtfully, bit by bit. You will get two very different kinds of gaming experiences. Replayability and a good, strong taste of what Ashen Knights is all about is what we are aiming for with this prologue.. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get to the point where the players will both really enjoy playing One Passage and also crave more.”
 

The prologue will contain three fairly large levels. Each level will feature a unique design, a set of original mobs and characters, and its own distinctive atmosphere:

1) “The Dream” —  an optional level that will instruct the aspiring knights in the basics of Primos and Evelin's gameplay.

2) “The Landing” — a glorious fight battle of Primos against endless hordes of enemies in the best traditions of hack’n’slash.

3) “The First Mission” — a labyrinthine journey filled with exploration and challenging boss battles as Evelin, the other protagonist and souls-lite ambassador of the Ashen Knights universe.
