Thalamus Digital Publishing Ltd. announces Binky: Frozen in Time, an arcade platform game for the Commodore 64.

A journey back to the forgotten age of platforming!

Bromstairs, UK (September 24th, 2026) – UK developer and publisher Thalamus Digital Publishing Ltd. today announced the upcoming launch of Binky: Frozen in Time for the Commodore 64 computer and compatible devices.

The game has been created by veteran game developers Chris Shrigley and Terry Lloyd, who worked on numerous Commodore 64 classics in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, including Bounder, Re-Bounder, Future Knight, and Rick Dangerous. Both Shrigley and Lloyd – along with Simon Phipps, who created the game’s cover art – previously worked for the renowned UK developer Gremlin Graphics, and later became part of the founding team at Core Design. More recently, the team created Thin Ice for the Commodore 64.

"I've always had a soft spot for the classic platformers," said programmer Chris Shrigley, "so when Terry Lloyd suggested we make a proper homage to all the games we played and loved back in the day, I was all over it. I think we ended up with a cracking little game, chock full of nostalgia. It was fun to make, and we hope people will have fun playing it."

"After the success of Chris and Terry’s recent game Thin Ice, publishing the sequel was a no-brainer," explains Thalamus founder and CEO Andy Roberts. "Binky: Frozen in Time is a welcome return to the classic arcade platform games of times past, and a brilliant continuation of the Binky franchise. Once again we also reunited Chris and Terry with long-time Gremlin Graphics and Core Design cohort Simon Phipps to handle the artwork, as well as veteran video game artist Paul ‘Dokk’ Docherty."

Launching on September 24th, 2026, Binky:Frozen in Time is a 2D, arcade platform game featuring dozens of levels, numerous enemy types, a bounty of bonuses, old-school arcade gameplay, and a retro 8-bit aesthetic. As well as the Commodore 64 version, Thalamus Digital hope to bring the game to other retro platforms such as the Commodore Amiga, AtariST, ZX Spectrum, and ZX Spectrum Next.
