SEOUL, South Korea — October 22, 2026 — Solo indie studio Define You today released Baekgwi: Ink Night Survivor (백귀먹행) on Google Play, 12 days after its iOS launch on October 10. The game's first major update (1.1) and its Halloween event, the "Night Parade Festival," are now live on both iOS and Android through November 9.
A roguelite painted in ink
Baekgwi is a one-thumb survival roguelite set in a Joseon-era Korean ink-wash landscape. Players must survive eight minutes against hordes of dokkaebi, nine-tailed foxes and other Korean folklore creatures. Move with one finger and your weapons fire automatically; pick upgrades as you level, combine them into 24 weapon evolutions, then take on the final boss. Ink and hanji-paper textures give each run the look and feel of a moving ink painting.
What's new in update 1.1
- Night Parade Festival (until Nov 9): Collect pumpkin lanterns and defeat bosses to earn limited Halloween costumes for all six playable heroes, plus event story content, login rewards, missions and a pumpkin shop.
- Seven Korean Folk Tales: A new story mode retells classics such as The Old Man with the Lump, The Magpie's Gratitude, The Fox Sister, The Sun and the Moon, Baby General Uturi and Young Lord Gangnim. Each chapter is five linked rounds where your build carries forward into the tale's boss fight.
- Underworld Tower — 70 Floors: A different boss on every floor, with the Twelve Zodiac Guardians awaiting players at the top.
- Spirit Beast Awakening: Mid-run, your Spirit Beast awakens — White Tiger charge, Azure Dragon thunderstorm, Vermilion Bird fire rain.
