Leiden, Netherlands, September 16, 2026 - Copper Coin today announced that Serenity Sketch, its debut commercial release, launches on iPad on October 6, 2026. A free demo of the first two Practices is available at launch on the App Store, with the full experience unlocked through a single in-app purchase.
Serenity Sketch is a guided painting Practice. Inspired by Zen principles of impermanence, players paint with water on stones set in immersive natural environments, guided by a narrated voice. Practices are designed to loosen up creativity, quiet self-judgment, and appreciate mistakes as part of the process. Every painting gracefully evaporates, so there's nothing left to critique when you're done.
"Most mindfulness-based apps are serious, and stuck in the head," said founder Joshua Veit. "Serenity Sketch is playful, and in the body." Veit left a career in finance in 2022 and, in the process of picking up a meditation practice himself, found it reopened space for creativity he'd forgotten was there all along. That personal shift, combined with a growing interest in games that are "weird, or spiritually profound, or emotionally mature," became the starting point for Serenity Sketch: a way to offer play as introspective self-care, and swap boring mindfulness as something embodied.
