LONDON, UK – June 9, 2023 – Greyhill Incident, the alien survival-horror game from developer Refugium Games and publisher Perp Games, just made first contact on PC via Steam, with a launch invading PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Tuesday, June 13. Available to purchase now on PC, the chilling, story-driven game takes players on a journey through the quiet neighborhood of Greyhill where aliens have invaded – and they do not come in peace. A special “Abducted Edition” of Greyhill Incident is also available now on Steam, and on June 13 digitally for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This edition features a special “Found Footage” mode that portrays the game through a creepy, camcorder lens. Additional bonuses in the “Abducted Edition” are available in both digital and physical form and include a manual on making a tinfoil hat to survive IRL alien mind-reading attacks and a newspaper detailing the Greyhill invasion. Physical PlayStation 5 “Abducted Edition” copies will be available on June 23 in Europe and July 11 in the United States.
In Greyhill Incident, players equipped with only a baseball bat and a revolver – with limited ammo – must run, hide from, and fight the grey extraterrestrial invaders to uncover an alien conspiracy, save their son and make it out alive. Playing as Ryan Baker, survivors will meet weird, and often wacky, fellow Greyhill residents along the way and communicate with walkie-talkies, receiving advice on escaping from the out-of-this-world visitors. Justifiably paranoid, calling the police is out of the question fear of being sent to the psychiatric ward, leading residents to band together and take matters into their own hands.
“The horror game genre is huge with fervent fans, and we wanted to create something unique and nostalgic for them that combines horror and nostalgic sci-fi,” said Aaron Roller, developer of Greyhill Incident. “We felt a traditional alien invasion story that wove together an intricate web of conspiracy and extraterrestrial encounters would make for a great game and were surprised to see that we were venturing into uncharted territory. That led us paying homage to the iconic X-Files franchise and classic movies like Signs.”
Greyhill residents will fight off abduction with features including:
- Stay Safe and Board Up – Avoid being seen and letting intruders in by boarding up windows to hold off the aliens from attacks.
- Run, Hide or Fight – Players will have to use their wits when coming face-to-face with the greys, choosing to run for their lives, hide under beds and in cabinets, or fight the creatures with a baseball bat or revolver.
- Journey Across the Neighborhood – There are plenty of useful items to find and mysterious puzzles to solve while venturing through the atmospheric Greyhill neighborhood that will ultimately lead players to uncover the Alien Conspiracy.
- Meet Eccentric Neighbors – The paranoid residents of Greyhill are terrified of being abducted and lend their help to Ryan Baker by sharing guidance in-person and via walkie talkie throughout the game.
Greyhill Incident is available now on PC via Steam and on Tuesday, June 13 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $29.99 USD Standard Edition, and $34.99 USD for the extra creepy “Abducted Edition.” PlayStation 5 physical copies launch on June 23 in Europe and July 11 in the United States, and can be pre-ordered now for $34.99 USD.
