Apex, North Carolina - March 27 2025 - Limited Run Games, a premium publisher of physical games, has partnered with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) to bring GRADIUS ORIGINS to players with a series of brand-new physical releases on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch™.
GRADIUS ORIGINS is the definitive collection of the earliest games in the GRADIUS series, packaging together six legendary arcade classics - GRADIUS, GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III, SALAMANDER, SALAMANDER 2, and LIFE FORCE - with several different versions of each game available, including the long-awaited AM Show version of GRADIUS III releasing on consoles for the first time.
If six classic shoot ‘em ups from KONAMI’s catalogue isn’t enough, GRADIUS ORIGINS also includes SALAMANDER III, a brand new game in the franchise that stays true to the 1990s aesthetics of the GRADIUS titles. In SALAMANDER III, players will traverse new stages, collecting power ups from the SALAMANDER series.
A variety of all-new quality of life features have been added to GRADIUS ORIGINS, including quick save/load functions, a rewind feature, and Invincible Mode. A new Training Mode lets players adjust settings like restart points, loop counts, and power-up statuses to help hone their skills to perfection. There's also a gallery feature that includes music from the games, a selection of images from each title, and plenty more to discover.
Working in conjunction with KONAMI, Limited Run will be producing Standard, Classic, and Collector’s Editions of GRADIUS ORIGINS on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders starting on Friday, March 28 and running until May 11, 2025. Featuring three covers to choose from, soundtrack CDs, art prints, and more, players will be able to choose the perfect edition for their physical collection.
