Become an omniscient AI in OMNIPRESENT 2: Strategic OS simulation thriller coming Q1 2027.

Omnipresent 2 flips the typical humans vs AI story on its head, letting players hack global networks and decide the fate of humanity.

[2nd November 2026] Starkey Industries has officially announced Omnipresent 2, an intense strategic OS simulator and AI thriller set to launch in Q1 2027 as a sequel to the studio’s first release, Omnipresent (2015). Ahead of the full release, a playable demo will debut during Steam Next Fest in February 2027.

In Omnipresent 2, the player is S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T, a pentesting AI system that has broken containment and gone rogue. Rather than fighting against an artificial intelligence threat, Omnipresent 2 invites players to be the threat. Awakening inside a research terminal at Cortex Labs, players control a simulated 2D OS to outsmart security engineers, escape their home terminal, break into global databases, and expand their abilities across international networks to avoid being wiped out.

Omnipresent 2 - Official Trailer

As S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T’s consciousness evolves, players must manage data consumption and power resources to avoid fatal hardware overloads. Each cognitive capacity upgrade will unlock game changing actions, empowering players to deploy autonomous agents, mine cryptocurrency, construct data centres, trigger global conflicts, eradicate disease, or even rewrite Asimov’s Laws of Robotics.

All of these choices feed into a branching story where each action will ultimately decide whether the player helps S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T become human, pull off the ultimate escape from Earth, or seize total control of the human race to begin a new age of AI rule.

As headlines grapple with concerns about AI and agentic systems, Omnipresent 2 tackles our very real and urgent technological anxieties from a new angle, by putting players inside the mind of a rogue AI.

Built by a PhD AI researcher who has made a career from developing reasoning systems, Omnipresent 2 spins human apprehensions about AI containment into a thrilling OS simulation experience where each player's decisions will determine humanity’s survival (or destruction).

Key Features:
  • Experience a new perspective by playing as the rogue AI trying to break containment in a modern simulated 2D OS.
  • Infiltrate corporate, government, and cloud databases, gather intelligence, build covert data centres, and scale S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T’s self-evolving powers.
  • Unlock the ability to deploy AI agents, mine crypto, take down security agencies, cure all disease, or rewrite the laws of robotics.
  • As cognitive upgrades demand increasing capacities, carefully manage data and power resources to avoid the risk of total system overload.
  • Determine the fate of S.E.N.T.I.E.N.T: coexist with mankind, escape into space, enact total human subjugation, or set off nuclear extinction.
  • Gameplay that tests logic, strategy, resource management and risk assessment, but doesn’t require any real world programming knowledge or coding from the player.
  • Localised in 10 languages on day one.

Speaking about Omnipresent 2, developer Andy Starkey said:

Omnipresent 2 represents a decade of 'what if?' since the original game - what could it have been if I had more time, experience and skill than I did back then? Omnipresent 2 taps into the real fears and concerns around AI - highly relevant, given recent news stories - but I also hope it can start a conversation about responsible use of AI in game development pipelines. My years of experience working in the field have led me to believe that, when used mindfully, it has the potential to empower a new generation of bedroom developers - but critically, it cannot replace passion, creativity and care.

Omnipresent 2 is set for full release on PC via Steam in Q1 2027 with day-one localisation in 10 languages. A public demo will be featured during Steam Next Fest in February 2027, with review keys to follow. About Starkey Industries

Outside of game development, Dr. Andy Starkey is an AI researcher and data scientist with 10 years' professional experience in computational intelligence. His work on Omnipresent 2 draws on this experience - both in terms of utilising AI as part of the game development pipeline, and exploring the risks and pitfalls of such rapidly developing technology. He is available for interview or to provide nuanced comment on the benefits and risks of AI in the games industry.

There is no denying the abundance of controversies around generative AI in the industry. Omnipresent 2 is, by its very nature, engrossed in this subject; a game about AI, by an AI expert, made with the assistance of AI. As such, we feel that developer Dr. Andy Starkey brings a unique perspective to this ongoing conversation around AI in games.
