BERGWERK - A Mining Sim Digs Deeper in New Demo Trailer

Follow coal from the rock face to the surface as excavation, tunnel construction, heavy machinery and transport networks come together underground and above

Paderborn, Germany, 26 October 2026: Aerosoft and Hindsight Studios have released a new trailer for BERGWERK - A Mining Sim, following the journey of coal rocks from its underground deposits to the surface of a growing industrial mining operation. The trailer brings together the hands-on mining, construction and logistics at the heart of the new demo, which is available to play on Steam right now, and will later launch in full on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Set in the fictional German coal region of Grubental, BERGWERK - A Mining Sim puts players in charge of a colliery above and below ground. Beginning with a small site and basic tools, you’ll acquire land, plan surface facilities and descend into procedurally generated, multi-level mines. Underground, freely planned tunnels must be excavated and secured while power, water, ventilation, gas and dust are kept under control. As the business expands, players can operate more than 15 heavy machines, build connected transport systems and respond to changing coal prices as they turn a local operation into a major mining company.

The new demo expands the simulation into one of continuous descent and return. After establishing the mine shaft above ground, you head below the surface with roadheaders, continuous miners and drilling equipment cutting through hard rock and dynamite to open the way forward. Newly driven tunnels are then made operational with anchors, mesh, roof supports, lighting, power, pipes and ventilation. The coal is loaded into mine carts, moved by locomotive and conveyors, raised through the shaft and carried back into daylight, where the washery and silo complete the production chain.

By connecting every stage rather than presenting isolated machines, the new demo lets players experience how each decision contributes to a working mine: break the rock, secure the route, keep the infrastructure running and move every load efficiently. With free-form excavation, simulated tunnel loads, maintenance and a dynamic economy, every colliery in Grubental is shaped by the player from the ground down.
