ArcheAge Chronicles Joins Steam Next Fest with a Free Demo

Players can descend on the Diamond Shores as one of four classes when the demo goes live October 19. It's the first time the public can test ArcheAge Chronicles' combat against other players, not just the environment.

SEOUL — October 1, 2026 — XLGAMES today announced that ArcheAge Chronicles, its open world action MMORPG set in the world of Auroria, will offer a free playable demo as part of Steam Next Fest: October 2026, the industry's largest showcase of upcoming PC games. The ArcheAge Chronicles demo goes live October 19 at 10:00 AM PDT and remains playable through October 26 at 10:00 AM PDT, no sign-up, key request, or waitlist required. Anyone with a Steam account can download it and play.

What's in the Demo

The demo drops players into Diamond Shores, one of Auroria's earliest regions, with access to four of ArcheAge Chronicles' playable classes:

• Warrior — front-line melee built around weight and pressure
• Ranger — mobile, precision damage from range
• Berserker — high-risk, high-reward aggression
• Mage — elemental burst and crowd control

For the first time in any public build, the demo includes PvP, giving players a direct look at how ArcheAge Chronicles', skill-driven combat holds up against another person instead of the environment. Life-skill systems such as Housing and Trade are not part of this build, as the Next Fest slice is built to spotlight combat, class identity, and story, with the deeper economic and social systems ArcheAge saved for release during Early Access.

Steam Next Fest: October 19–26, 2026

Steam Next Fest is Valve's recurring, week-long celebration of upcoming PC games, running October 19 through October 26, 2026, and pairing hundreds of playable demos with developer livestreams and community Q&As. The ArcheAge Chronicles demo remains available through the SNF close, giving players an extended window to explore Diamond Shores, test each class, and weigh in on PvP before Early Access.
