Erlangen, Germany, July 16, 2025 | Refreshing moments await at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne: From August 20 to 24, indie developer Boxelware will present its simulation game Aquapark Tycoon in the halls of the world’s largest gaming event. In the Indie Arena Booth (Hall 10.2), visitors can dive into the game world and design their very own water park.
Exclusive Gamescom demo brings new features!Following the successful release of the first public demo on Steam in May, Boxelware is taking things to the next level at Gamescom. The upcoming demo version for Gamescom will include exciting new features, available to try out for the first time at the booth. Highlights include:
- Sliding in first-person view for an extra thrill!
- Lazy River for relaxing, feel-good moments
- Twitch integration lets viewers appear as visitors in the water park
- New building features, including blueprints for slides and pools
- Additional management tools for better control of park operations, including …
- Detecting and preventing pickpocketing, identifying and repairing damage, removing dirt, carrying out maintenance work, adding storage spots
- using solar and geothermal energy to reduce costs
On top of that, all content developed so far for the water park simulation will be fully playable.

Boxelware is a development studio founded in 2016, based in Erlangen. The studio is led by Konstantin Kronfeldner, who realized his dream with the space game Avorion. Funding was secured through a Kickstarter campaign. Since the Early Access launch of Avorion in 2017, the game has sold over 500,000 copies. Aquapark Tycoon is the studio's second game.
