Afrime Studios Reveals Sneak Peek Into Unyverse Main Story Hub

Afrofuturistic RPG with Fighting Game Mechanics Enters Pre-Production, with MVP and Demo as Next Major Milestones

Charleston, South Carolina — May, 29, 2026
 — Afrime Studios today revealed a new sneak peek on Insider-Gaming.com's Indie Showcase into the main story hub for Unyverse, the studio’s original Afrofuturistic action RPG that blends fighting game mechanics with deep narrative progression, exploration, and character-driven worldbuilding.

Currently in pre-production, Unyverse is being developed as a stylized, story-rich RPG built around high-impact combat, cultural imagination, and a bold vision of the diaspora of African culture expressed through science fiction, fantasy, and interactive storytelling. The newly revealed story hub offers an early look at the world players will enter, setting the stage for the game’s central characters, factions, conflicts, and progression systems.

New trailers and broll located in the linked press kit below.

The main story hub is designed to serve as a living narrative anchor for the player experience. It will connect key story moments, character interactions, mission progression, training, customization, lore discovery, and future gameplay systems. Afrime Studios is using the hub as a foundation for building the game’s MVP and eventual public-facing demo.

“Unyverse is about creating a world that feels culturally specific, emotionally resonant, and mechanically exciting,” said Crandon Dillard, founder of Afrime Studios. “We are building an Afrofuturistic RPG where story, combat, identity, and player expression all work together. This sneak peek into the main story hub is an early signal of the scale, tone, and ambition behind the project.”

The game is being designed around a hybrid gameplay model that fuses the immediacy and skill expression of fighting games with the depth, progression, and worldbuilding of an RPG. Players can expect fast, stylish encounters, character growth, cinematic storytelling, and a world shaped by conflict, legacy, technology, and cultural power.

Afrime Studios’ current production focus is on moving from pre-production into a playable MVP, followed by a polished demo that will showcase the game’s core loop, combat foundation, story hub, art direction, and market potential. These milestones are intended to support future publishing, investment, platform, and community conversations.

Unyverse has previously drawn attention through early showcase activity and worldbuilding previews, positioning Afrime Studios as part of a growing movement of independent studios creating culturally expansive, globally resonant games for underserved audiences.

“The next step is proving the experience in players’ hands,” Reynolds added. “The MVP and demo will allow us to show how the world, combat, and story come together as a playable vision.”

Afrime Studios will continue sharing development updates as Unyverse progresses through pre-production, MVP development, and demo preparation.
