FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Berlin, 19 October 2026. Solo developer Julian Bauer today announced that A Dark Cave, a dark, story-driven, minimalist incremental village builder, is taking part in Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October 2026. A free demo is available on Steam now, and the full Windows edition releases on Steam on 27 October 2026.
In A Dark Cave you wake at the mouth of a cave with no memory. A small fire is all that stands between you and the dark. You gather wood, craft tools, recruit villagers and grow a settlement, while a story about a lost civilization unfolds in the cave below. The game is semi-idle and active: you make choices, manage jobs, explore and fight. Graphics stay minimal so the writing, systems and atmosphere do the work.
A Dark Cave is aimed at players who enjoyed A Dark Room, Kittens Game and Universal Paperclips. It is also free to play in the browser on desktop and mobile at https://www.google.com/url?q=http://a-dark-cave.com&source=gmail&ust=1792479223249000&sa=E.
