Welcome to the Caretaker Program: Our Last Attempt at Humanity’s Survival

Every Seed You Plant Shapes Humanity’s Future in Channel37’s Seafaring Survival Game, The Last Caretaker — Coming to PC Fall 2025

Helsinki, Finland (June 8, 2025) | Today at the PC Gaming Show, Finnish independent studio Channel37 onboarded players to the initiative of preserving and propagating the human species, the primary objective of its upcoming seafaring survival action-adventure game, The Last Caretaker

Welcome to the Caretaker Program: The Last Attempt at Humanity’s Survival. Congratulations on Your Assignment!

TALON INDUSTRIES & ROBOTICS — the world-renowned conglomerate taking care of your dreams!™ since 1947 — introduces us to the AUTONOMOUS CARETAKER UNIT MODEL TC-250. In Chapter 01 of this visual instructional manual, you’ll learn how your caretaker unit will ensure the future of humankind as our planet becomes increasingly saturated and uninhabitable. As a vital part of the MOSES Human Seed Program, you and your caretaker will facilitate the acquisition of cryogenically frozen embryos, the growth of human seeds into adults optimized for space life within patented MOSES Lazarus Rack pods, and their transport to orbital MOSES Colonies for integration into a thriving society among the stars!

At MOSES, care is cyclical; take care of your caretaker robot as it cares for your assigned sector, and it will care for all of humanity. Remember: Every Seed You Plant Shapes Humanity’s Future!

The world has changed. An endless ocean stretches in every direction, its surface dotted by the crumbling ruins of those who stayed behind. Machines hum quietly, still performing forgotten tasks, while navigation beacons flicker with weak signals from the past. There, the repurposed and reshaped technology drifts silently, watching and waiting.

Suddenly, after centuries of silence, your systems flicker to life. As the Last Caretaker, your mission remains unchanged: navigate this vast ocean, recover lost knowledge, awaken dormant systems, and safeguard humanity’s final hope — human seeds resting deep within the Seed Vaults carrying memories and dreams as they wait patiently for their chance at rebirth among the stars. You are not alone. Some machines whisper forgotten protocols, watching your every step. Fulfill your sacred directive and uncover your meaning.

Key Features of The Last Caretaker:

  • Create: Scavenge valuable resources to repair critical systems, upgrade your robotic capabilities, and craft tools essential for maintaining your operational capabilities. Every system you restore and every decision you make defines your purpose.

  • Explore: If a place looks explorable — above or below the ocean — it is. Weathered megastructures, decayed platforms, and forgotten stations still cling to purpose. These aren’t just set pieces, they’re real locations with a history.

  • Discover: Every structure contains a narrative thread to the past and fragments of human history. If a place feels like it’s hiding a secret, it probably is.

  • Nurture: Survival isn’t just about food. Human life is shaped by memories. Rebuild them, and you rebuild humanity itself.

  • Survive: The ocean is beautiful, but it is not safe. Rogue machines, biomechanical threats, and unknown forces seek to disrupt your mission. Navigate this world at your own pace, as a resource as simple as light can be your weapon and fear a guide to live another day.

“The Summer of Caretaking continues with a very important message from the mysterious organizations behind humanity’s quest for survival,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder of Channel37. “Today’s trailer for The Last Caretaker gives players a small glimpse into the past they’ll uncover as they play the game later this year.”

He continued, “You might have noticed that The Last Caretaker was originally set for release this summer, but we’re happy to announce it's now arriving this fall instead! Why happy? Because creating a game is like nurturing humans. It requires time, effort, and patience. Just as children start their lives in a cradle but must eventually step out into the world, games also need time before they're ready to thrive on their own. Plus, Finnish summer is here, and even developers need to recharge. Considering this might be among the last games of our human epoch, we thought — heck, let’s make it count. Wishlist today and help make humanity’s final chapter unforgettable.”

The Last Caretaker will be released in Early Access for Windows PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store this fall. A console release will occur at a later date. Future caretakers can wishlist the game now.
