ROTTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS — 10 July, 2025 — Total Mayhem Games, the indie developer behind the award-winning asymmetric co-op puzzle series We Were Here, is excited to announce that the franchise’s first three games (We Were Here, We Were Here Too and We Were Here Together) are coming to Nintendo Switch™ later this year!
We Were Here, We Were Here Too and We Were Here Together will be backwards compatible with Nintendo Switch™ 2. This means Explorers will be able to dive into these asymmetric puzzle games together, whether they’re playing on Nintendo Switch™ or Nintendo Switch™ 2. Cross-platform support is also in development for the first three games in the We Were Here Series.

In the We Were Here Series, players take on the role of Antarctic Explorers who get caught up in a mystery revolving around the realm of Castle Rock. Players are separated from each other most of the time, and will have to work together and communicate clearly in order to solve the asymmetric puzzles that give each Explorer different information. Two devices, two players, one Nintendo Switch™. A Nintendo Switch Online Membership and a headset with microphone (or a different way to communicate with your partner) will be required to play the We Were Here Series on Nintendo Switch™.

The We Were Here Series
The We Were Here Series has been captivating players with its co-op puzzle designs and challenging duos to think outside the box since 2017 when We Were Here launched as a free game that has now been downloaded almost 8 million times. Since then, the We Were Here Series has been enjoyed by more than 20 million players. We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is the latest release and blew all records out of the water by hitting more than 8 million downloads within its first year. The puzzling adventures are playable in any order, although there is a common narrative thread running through them.
We Were Here, We Were Here Too, We Were Here Together and We Were Here Forever are all available on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, of which We Were Here Forever also launched on Epic Games, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. In another first for the series, the first three games will also launch on Nintendo Switch™ and Nintendo Switch™ 2 later this year.
We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is the first of the Expeditions and launched on PC, PlayStation 5 & 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in 2023. The bite-sized We Were Here Expeditions experience was free for a limited time at launch.
We Were Here Forever and We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip both support cross-platform play, allowing Explorers to play together across all platforms. For earlier games cross-platform support is in development.
Total Mayhem Games
Based in the heart of Rotterdam, Total Mayhem Games has made a name for itself with its signature co-op puzzle adventures. The independent studio launched in 2017 with the free We Were Here game on Steam and has only gone from strength to strength since with the release of We Were Here Too in 2018, We Were Here Together in 2019 and We Were Here Forever in 2022.
