7 October 2026: Dionous Games and developer Lightfoot Bros Games today announced that Sleepytime Village will release on PC via Steam and GOG on 30 October 2026, just in time for Halloween. The game is available to wishlist now on both platforms ahead of launch.
Trailer
Sleepytime Village is a narrative point-and-click adventure following Rufus, a neglectful, workaholic father who finds himself trapped inside a children's storybook reality. The world around him is populated by unsettling residents and overseen by a formless narrator, and Rufus must reckon with both the storybook's haunted logic and his own failings as a parent. The tone is deliberately spooky rather than gory, offering tension and unease without graphic content.
The game draws clear inspiration from genre touchstones such as Monkey Island and Broken Sword, and brings a distinctive visual identity to that tradition. Its characters originated as drawings by writer Steven Horry's young daughter and were re-imagined for the game by Ukrainian artist Yulia. The result is more than 70 fully hand-drawn scenes and a world with a genuinely singular look. Every character in the game is fully voice-acted, and players can expect to encounter more than 100 collectible objects across their playthrough.
Key features:
- Over 70 hand-drawn scenes inspired by a child's original artwork
- 100-plus collectible objects
- Full voice acting throughout
- Spooky atmosphere without gore or graphic content
- Inspired by Monkey Island and Broken Sword
