“I said last year that a big change was coming—and now it’s here,” said Japes. “This version of Neon Sword is different from what was shown prior to Demo V2, but it’s a better, more focused game.”
Key Changes Include:
Business Systems Simplified – The business management mechanics have been reduced to a more basic and accessible version.
Inventory Overhaul – A new weapon wheel replaces the traditional inventory UI for faster access and cleaner gameplay.
Clothing Customization Refined – Outfits are now managed through the player’s home base after purchase from in-game shops.
Corporation Management Removed – Complex corporate gameplay elements have been taken out entirely.
Character Backgrounds Under Review – This feature may return based on player feedback.
Camera & Movement Updated – Tank-style controls and automatic camera movement have been removed to reflect modern control standards and player feedback.
What Remains Unchanged:
Narrative Integrity – The full story and its structure remain exactly as originally envisioned.
Quaid City Open World – The entire map of Quaid City will be fully accessible at launch, maintaining its role as a central pillar of the experience.
Updated Demo Now Available
Players can now explore the latest demo, which includes:
- A selection of short missions with multiple dialogue outcomes
- Access to approximately 75% of Quaid City
- Around 40 minutes of content spread over two in-game days
- Optional side activities and jobs for added engagement
Japes has also implemented numerous bug fixes from the previous version of the demo and invites players to report any new issues via the Steam forums or the official Neon Sword Discord community.
