GRAB YOUR FRIENDS FOR A BIG WALK NEXT YEAR

House House gives players a first in-depth look at their upcoming multiplayer adventure in new gameplay trailer

PORTLAND, JUNE 6, 2025 - During today’s Day of the Devs showcase as part of Summer Game Fest, developer House House (Untitled Goose Game, Push Me Pull You) and publisher Panic (Firewatch, Thank Goodness You’re Here!) revealed a new gameplay trailer for Big Walk, giving players a first in-depth tour around their upcoming cooperative online multiplayer adventure. The game is made for friends to play together, offering them a vast island to explore and a variety of challenges and puzzles to solve, which will test their ability to communicate and coordinate as a group. Additionally, it was announced that Big Walk will now be released next year on PC & console.

This latest trailer features the developers as in-game characters, offering players a deeper look at Big Walk from within the game itself. The four members of House House take turns explaining how their unique take on proximity voice chat makes talking and exploring as a group feel so special, how Big Walk’s challenges work, and how every part of the game is designed around cooperation.

“Our chat system makes it important to stick together, so navigating the world of Big Walk requires lots of teamwork and talking,” explains Michael McMaster. “A lot of [our challenges] are designed to let you find funny and surprising new ways to talk,” adds Jake Strasser: “Like the rest of the game, challenges in Big Walk are about the joy of muddling through things together.”

The trailer also explores how Big Walk leaves room for players to spend time together and make their own fun. “We think there’s some real magic that happens when you forget you forget your plans, and find yourselves doing something else entirely,” says Nico Disseldorp — for example, by just sitting and enjoying a sunset, or telling stories after dark, having a dance party, or kicking your friend’s binoculars into the ocean. Disseldorp continues, “We made Big Walk to be a nice way to hang out with your friends in a videogame, and we hope you like playing it as much as we do.”

House House have also announced the release of the first single from the Big Walk soundtrack from Melbourne artists Sam Gill and Luke Neher, who are making music for the game as AKSFX. “Ever since a track of ours got included in one of the club expansions to GTA Online in 2018 we had in the back of our heads that idea that we really wanted to try writing music for a video game,” says Neher. “House House were so great about collaborating with us on these questions from the ground up with total openness to any idea or possibilities that emerged in our discussions. The only thing that they knew for sure was that they wanted the music to be diegetic — it's coming out of actual speakers in the game and everyone hears it at once, and of course this made so much sense because the entire game is about hearing and being heard by your friends in real time.” Big Walk Theme (Jumping Voices) is available now to stream on Spotify, or purchase via Bandcamp.
