First Details Revealed For Core Keeper’s Next Major Content Update ‘The Desert of Beginnings’

Additional content and seasonal events also announced as Pugstorm reveals 2022 roadmap for hit sandbox adventure

LONDON, UK – September 1, 2022 – Pugstorm and Fireshine Games are thrilled to announce the first details on Core Keeper’s next major content update ‘The Desert of Beginnings’ – an all-new free update scheduled to release this November – and reveal the full roadmap of content coming to the game throughout the remainder of 2022.

The Desert of Beginnings, which follows the launch of Core Keeper’s first major content update ‘The Sunken Sea’ earlier this year, will introduce a brand-new desert biome to the million-selling mining sandbox adventure, along with a scorching new ‘Molten Quarry’ sub-biome. As players explore the desert’s dunes and tombs, they’ll encounter a variety of new enemies, including the Bomb Scarab, Lava Butterfly and Caveling Assassin, on their journey to defeat a colossal new boss, Ra-Akar the Sand Titan.

Players will also be able to mine a brand-new ore, Galaxite, which can be used to craft new weapons and equipment, and upgrade and expand their bases even further. A new vehicle type will also be introduced, providing an exciting new way for players to traverse the desert sands.

The Desert of Beginnings also introduces Steam achievements to the game for the first time, along with additional localisation support allowing players to add custom Latin languages. The Desert of Beginnings will be available to all Core Keeper players for free when it releases as a downloadable update on Steam this November.

Alongside revealing the first details on The Desert of Beginnings, Pugstorm also announced the line-up of additional free content and events coming to Core Keeper later this year. ‘Cozy Caverns’, a cosmetics-based content update built around community feedback, will introduce a range of new ways for players to decorate their base when it releases for free on September 14th, while seasonal in-game events themed around Halloween and Christmas will take place later this year. Core Keeper’s third major update, introducing a new Crystal Biome, will be available in 2023. For the full roadmap detailing the timeline of new content, visit Steam.

Core Keeper’s incredible success has given us the opportunity to revisit our plans and significantly increase the amount of content we’re able to add to the game for free throughout Early Access,” said Sven Thole, COO & Lead Animator at Pugstorm. “We are thrilled to reveal our full 2022 roadmap and confirm the first details on The Desert of Beginnings, which we can’t wait for players to discover later this year. We’ve been listening to player feedback every step of the way, and hope that our revised roadmap and range of upcoming content will make the community very excited for the future of the game.”
