Ethereal Dual Timeline Puzzler DESOLUS Introduces New Mysteries Ahead of Steam Next Fest Today

DESOLUS, a first-person puzzle game that uses portals to traverse past and future realities from Mark J. Mayers (Outer Wilds, Manifold Garden) and The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, debuts new mind-bendingers Today in an updated demo ahead of Steam Next Fest.

Explore the beautiful Gothic city of Desolus in the midst of a devastating cataclysm. Solve artistic, Escher-like architectural puzzles spanning past and future dimensions.

Partner with a mysterious guardian and their alter ego to unravel a haunting narrative and save the city from complete annihilation.

Hop between dimensions and manipulate black holes to transpose staircases, doorways, ruins, and much more from one version of Desolus to the other.

Employ sharp spatial reasoning skills to restructure pathways and navigate a breathtaking, non-linear metropolis.

Progress further than ever before into the Mirrored Garden in Today’s new demo. Decipher more advanced puzzles by mastering mirroring mechanics and shifting dimensions to forge the path ahead.

DESOLUS is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in Q3 2026 with language support in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Dutch, Korean, Spanish (Latin America & Spain), Portuguese (Brazil & Portugal), Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

For more information, check out the official DESOLUS website, and follow solo developer Mark J. Mayers on X and Bluesky.
