Elder Scrolls Star Wes Johnson Joins Cast of “Horror in the Library: The Invitation VR”

Blue Donut Studios Announces Major Casting for Victorian Horror VR Puzzle Game on Meta Quest

[Portsmouth, UK – June 2025] — Blue Donut Studios, an independent UK-based game studio, is excited to reveal that Wes Johnson, renowned for his iconic performances in The Elder Scrolls series (Sheogorath, Lucien Lachance), will voice the Mad Professor in their upcoming virtual reality title Horror in the Library: The Invitation VR.

The game builds on the studio's original tabletop success, Horror in the Library — a gothic, Victorian-themed board game of tactics, betrayal, collecting and monsters. Players race to collect secrets while navigating a trap-filled mansion with a unique rotating room mechanic, deploying strategy to outwit opponents and escape the horror within. The game has earned praise across the UK and Europe, and was recently introduced to US audiences at WonderCon 2025, marking its debut American showcase.

The VR adaptation evolves this concept into an immersive escape room experience for Meta Quest. Players explore a haunted and reality-warping mansion, solving timed puzzles and piecing together the mysterious disappearance of Lady Hermione Elderoy and her husband. Throughout the game, they will encounter tales and whispers about the elusive Mad Professor — voiced with ominous charm by Wes Johnson.
“Wes brings exactly the kind of intelligence and theatrical tension we needed for the Professor,” said Marcus Pullen, Managing Director of Blue Donut Studios. “His voice leads the player into mystery and madness, enriching every twist in the narrative.”

Johnson commented, I’m delighted to join this diabolically fun team in bringing the enormously delightful board game “Horror in the Library” to vivid life as a thrilling videogame. The Mad Professor is a dream role, and I can’t wait to make these fever dreams a reality nightmare for the player. Laugh, cry, scream in horror. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
