LONDON, ONTARIO – Sept. 15, 2025 – Digital Extremes hosted its monthly Soulframe Devstream on Friday, focusing on the latest Soulframe Preludes update for its ongoing closed Pre-Alpha playtest. On the heels of a hands-off showcase at TennoCon in July, Soulframe Devstream 9 offered a closer look at the latest Fable, features, and improvements arriving for free later this month for players on PC.
“At its heart, Soulframe has always been about restoration and redemption,” said Sarah Asselin, Senior Community Manager. “With Bromius’ Fable, Envoys will face Ode’n corruption in its most vivid form. They will witness its effects firsthand as even gentle Sproutfolk twist into something Other… yet hope endures. Envoys will descend into the Neath’uns, into the belly of the beast, to face the rot at its root. Change is always possible and happens gradually over time. We want Soulframe to embody that throughout every aspect as players explore this world we’re handcrafting together with them.”
Highlights from Soulframe Devstream 9 include:
- The 11th Preludes update will arrive later this month for free on PC for those with access to Soulframe Preludes. Update 11 will bring the full Waste Bear Fable and invite players to venture deep into the Neath’uns underbelly, full of new enemies, to restore the corrupted Omen Beast, Bromius.
- Upon completion of The Waste Bear Fable, players can align with a new Pact with abilities inspired by Bromius’ “plant-iful” profession. Forge a fuzzy, yet frightening, armor set and a claw-like cleaver with a honey pot shield set that personifies the tumultuous nature of Bromius’ struggles.
- The Rat Witch Verminia brews forth various improvements and new features, including eight new rank-up options that unlock armor transmog and colour customization features.
- Each of the starting Factions: Alca's Children, Kith of Kings, and Silent Rose, when selected at the start of Soulframe’s journey, will now come with one of three exclusive starter armour sets.
- Two new songs will be released soon and featured in The Waste Bear Fable: "Song of Waste" are available on YouTube, and "Song of Growth" alongside the 11th Update’s launch later this month. Listen to the world of Soulframe come to life on most major streaming platforms later this year.
