Antwerp, Belgium, 25/09/2025 — Witsteen announced the first two Leaders for Battle for Randland, the official The Wheel of Time digital trading card game. Egwene al’Vere represents the Light with spell-driven tempo. Graendal represents the Shadow with attack reduction and control.
Egwene al’Vere - Light identity
“At the end of your turn, if you played a spell this turn, deal 1 damage to the opponent’s Leader.”
Egwene rewards careful sequencing. Aes Sedai cards amplify her pressure. Moiraine Damodred reads, “Each time you cast a spell, deal 1 damage to your opponent’s Leader.” Chain Resonance reads, “Deal 1 damage to all enemy beings. Deal that much total damage to the opponent’s Leader.” These effects let small spells add up and create inevitability.
Graendal - Shadow identity
“The being with the highest attack in the opponent army has -1 attack.”
Graendal weakens enemy forces and sets up theft through Domination. Mind Break provides Domination (3) until the end of your turn. Chains of Will provides Domination (12). Throttling Grasp removes smaller threats with “Destroy a being with 4 or less attacks.” These tools convert Graendal’s debuff into tempo swings and stolen finishers.

“Leaders should be readable in one breath and decisive over many turns. If you love spell tempo, Egwene is your home. If you enjoy peeling power away and winning with the enemy’s best unit, Graendal is your path.”

Numbers in parentheses are effect values.
• Domination (X) means take control of an enemy being with X or less attack. The card sets the duration.
• Overchannel (X) means your spells deal or heal X additional while the effect is active.
