September 14, 2020 -- Games Done Quick announced that Awesome Games Done Quick 2021, supporting Prevent Cancer Foundation, will take place entirely online January 3-10, 2021. Like Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online last month, the event will be broadcast on the official Games Done Quick Twitch channel from the GDQ studio, with speedrunners participating from the safety of their homes.
“While we eagerly await the day we can see our speedrun family and friends again, we will be continuing with an online format for AGDQ 2021 so that we can continue to observe best practices in keeping our community safe in the midst of COVID-19,” said Kasumi Yogi, Director of Marketing and Business Development of Games Done Quick. “We hope that conditions surrounding the pandemic improve so we can return to a venue for future events.”
