5 August 2025 - Animoca Brands, the company driving digital property rights to help establish the open metaverse and its associated network effects, today announced that it has partnered with AMGI Studios, creators and developers of My Pet Hooligan, a third-person platform-shooter video game filled with cartoon chaos and destruction. In addition, Animoca Brands has begun to acquire additional KARRAT tokens from the open market; KARRAT is the utility and governance token adopted by AMGI Studios.
My Pet Hooligan merges blockchain technology with immersive gameplay, offering a unique gaming experience that blends traditional gaming and Web3 culture. Players enter a vibrant world filled with quirky, rebellious rabbits, each showcasing distinct personalities, and engage in both PvP and PvE experiences.
As part of the partnership, Animoca Brands will leverage its expertise to bolster Studio Chain, an upcoming L2 blockchain for gaming and media built with Arbitrum Orbit. Studio Chain, which is currently available in testnet, is developed by AMGI Studios and leverages Caldera’s high-performance infrastructure for core validation. Studio Chain is designed to power next generation games, AI agents, and digital experiences by providing scalable, low cost infrastructure for developers, studios, and creators to build, deploy, and monetize content on-chain.
Animoca Brands will also advise AMGI Studios on My Pet Hooligan's go-to-market strategy and tokenomics, and will provide liquidity for the KARRAT token. KARRAT is an ERC20 utility and governance token for gaming and entertainment ecosystems that plays an integral role in powering Studio Chain and the My Pet Hooligan ecosystems.
AMGI Studios is the official launch partner of the Karrat Foundation, which aims to steward and foster the growth of KARRAT token as the utility and governance token across the KARRAT ecosystem, which includes gaming and broader entertainment initiatives.
