PORTLAND, MAY 25, 2023 -  Here to deliver a fine batch of games to your Playdate, Panic is happy to share the latest group of games arriving later today to Catalog - their curated on-device and web-based games store for Playdate - as well as a recap of the games that came to Catalog earlier in May.   

If you would like review codes for any of these games, and you have a Playdate, reach out and we will try our best to accommodate.

We are unfortunately not able to provide additional Playdate hardware review units at this time.

  • NECROCRISIS - $8

    • Description: Generations is a challenging puzzle game that has you organizing Portraits on the wall of a living room, a task requiring a surprising amount of strategy, planning, and thinking ahead. Each time you hang three (or more) portraits of any family members of the same age group next to each other, their portraits will combine into a new portrait of an older family member! 
 
  • Castle Helios - $7

    • Description: Castle Helios is an exploration and puzzle adventure game with a bit of combat. Recently having lost his powers while fighting the current ruler of Castle Helios, the evil King Etanakh, the wizard Solus must find the 6 Magic Keys that will allow him to escape the Castle alive

      Use magic spells to help you traverse the Castle's rooms, kill or evade monsters, defeat bosses, and solve puzzles. But first, you must find the magic items that grant you these abilities.
 
  • Loopsy - $5

    • Description: Loopsy is a quirky arcade / puzzle game created exclusively for Playdate. The goal of the game is simple. Create as many loops as you can before the board fills up or the timer expires. The pieces get harder and the timer speeds up the more loops you make.
 
  • Along Came a Spider - $2

    • Description: A pocket sized, cranking adventure. Tasked with retrieving an heirloom for The Monarch of The Hollow, a cunning spider by the name of Eric Nid leaves the nest and steps out into Spindleton to fulfill his quest - but the town is full of danger. Luckily, Eric isn't alone - a plucky band of memorable spider siblings can be found to aid him on his way. Search high and low to find a path to the heirloom and crank with precision to overcome the obstacles standing in your way.

  • Time From Earth - $3

Experience a day-to-day system, speak to everyone & complete tasks on your ship, and at the end of the day, head back to the accommodation to start the next day. Uncover a mystery onboard the ship… Made in Pulp!
    • Credits: Ollie Coe made the game. Ben Perry made the awesome sound & music. Elliott Coe came up with the initial concept and co-developed. SquidGodDev taught Ollie most of what he knows about Pulp and game development in general. 
  • Spike II: The Great Emu War - $5

    • Description: Spike II: The Great Emu War is a run-and-gun shooter! The emus are at the gates of CatTown. The cat army is overwhelmed by the number of feathered soldiers, the felines will soon become... an endangered species. Equipped with your minigun, try to survive the horde of emus who will do their best to catch you.

  • Post Hero - $8
