Lavos, the transmuter, acted as a jailer to an unnamed rogue Orokin alchemist on Venus. He grew close to the prisoner and eventually became his pupil. When the prisoner’s execution day came, the pupil instead transmuted his teacher into a serpent and grafted him onto Lavos’ left arm.

Lavos consumes enemies with serpent whips, crashes through enemies with a frozen trail of broken vials, launches transmutation probes to transform pickups into universal items, and catalyzes combatants with gallons of fiery gel.
