Total War: MEDIEVAL II ‘Hotseats & Halberds’ update now available for iOS and Android

Feral Interactive has today released a major new update for Total War: MEDIEVAL II on iOS and Android, bringing a wealth of additional features to the mobile versions of Creative Assembly’s grand strategy classic. Free to all owners of MEDIEVAL II on iOS and Android, the ‘Hotseats & Halberds’ update allows for asynchronous multiplayer campaigns on one device, brings comprehensive balance improvements and adds further polish.

In Hotseat multiplayer, each player selects a campaign faction to command, passing the device between them as they take their turns to make their strategic moves. Although this mode was previously only available in the Kingdoms expansion on desktop, the mobile version of Total War: MEDIEVAL II also enables Hotseat mode in the Grand Campaign. New ways to compete are also added, with Co-op and Battle Royale modes adding variety to victory conditions. A full rundown of Hotseat features is viewable here.

The ‘Halberds’ side of the update delivers a host of rebalancing changes for late-era units – largely based on player feedback since the mobile release of MEDIEVAL II – increasing their power in battles and resulting in more dynamic and memorable clashes. A thorough overview of unit refinements is detailed here.

The full changelist of the ‘Hotseats and Halberds’ update for Total War: MEDIEVAL II on mobile is available to view on the Feral website. Owners of the game on iOS or Android can update now.

Total War: MEDIEVAL II is available on the App Store and Google Play Store for $14.99 / €12,49 / £9.99 (regional prices may vary).
