March 13, 2025 – After a stellar 9.1 out of 10 average rating from a backer review of a rough-cut episode, TerrorBytes: The Evolution of Horror Gaming has released its launch trailer and entered a final pre-sale campaign. The new five-part documentary series, featuring over 50 horror luminaries, including acclaimed filmmaker John Carpenter and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, is available to pre-order now ahead of its release in April, with exclusive perks including early digital access to episodes 1 and 2, your name in the credits, access to the Darkness Unlimited streaming service, and a digital copy of FPS: First Person Shooter.
Each episode delves into a different theme, beginning with survival horror and then moving onto licensed games, FMV and interactive movie games, the indie horror scene, and ending on "cursed" and controversial games. The all-star cast includes such legends as Roberta Williams (director: Phantasmagoria), John Romero (co-creator: DOOM), Denis Dyack (director: Eternal Darkness), Corey Taylor (vocalist: Slipknot), Swery65 (director: Deadly Premonition), David Szymanski (creator: DUSK, Iron Lung), Hifumi Kono (director: Clock Tower), Airdorf (creator: FAITH: The Unholy Trinity), Will Byles (director: Until Dawn), Jeremy Blaustein (translator: Silent Hill 2), Sam Barlow (director: Her Story, Immortality; writer: Silent Hill Shattered Memories), Mathieu Cote (co-director: Dead By Daylight), and many more.
