RIGA, Latvia – August 12, 2026 – Independent developer KBGS today announced the launch of Rogue Drone, a sci-fi strategy game that combines active resource mining, base building, automation, and tower defense into a unique long-term optimization experience. The game is now available on Steam with a 10% launch discount.
Unlike traditional tower defense games that focus on constant combat, Rogue Drone puts mining at the center of the experience. During the day, players actively extract valuable crystals using a real-time beam matching system, expand their automated mining colony, research new technologies, and prepare their defenses. When night falls, enemy waves attack automatically, putting every strategic decision made during the day to the test.
Players can choose between two distinct game modes. Free Play offers a relaxed experience focused on building and optimizing without time pressure, while Time Pressure challenges players to balance efficient mining, base expansion, and defensive preparation before night arrives.
Mining is more than simply gathering resources. The better players mine, the faster they progress, unlock upgrades, expand their economy, and prepare stronger defenses. Every decision influences future nights, encouraging long-term planning rather than short-term reactions.
