Rain World: The Watcher Leaks Onto Consoles This September

A lonely, lost slugcat journeys beyond. Will you outlast the ravages of a warped world?

LOS ANGELES, CA - September 11, 2025 Bred in the depths of an overgrown wasteland, Rain World: The Watcher by Videocult and Akupara Games stalks patiently in the shadows, ready to creep onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on September 25th. Released on PC earlier this year, console players have been quietly waiting for their chance to slither through the Watcher’s murky, warped waters. Hide in the shade, wiggle through the dark, and shift between realities as the Watcher decides the fate of a newfound slugcat. What will it take to stay in the shadows?

In addition to the console port, Videocult is excited to release the Watcher 1.5! This update brings multiple new regions to explore, new creatures, items, mechanics, new characters, new paths (and endings), plus a multitude of new pieces of art and music.

Beyond the Watcher campaign, Rain World itself will be getting major improvements with the Watcher including: 50+ new Arena maps, full Arena Mode and Jolly Co-op support for the Watcher, and retroactive Jolly Co-op support for ALL five Downpour campaigns. Players can also expect numerous gameplay tweaks, patches, and QoL updates.

In Rain World, you are a nomadic slugcat, both predator and prey in a broken ecosystem. Grab your spear and brave the industrial wastes, hunting enough food to survive, but be wary— other, bigger creatures have the same plan... and slugcats look delicious.

Rain World: The Watcher is the next DLC expansion of Rain World. Journey beyond to something, somewhere only ever glimpsed. When the world beneath your feet cracks and crumbles, will you hold on to all you once knew? Or dive into the unknown?

The wilds that await will be unlike all that's come before.

Unknown creatures stalk and climb and dive and hunt. New breeds rip and pluck and burrow and hide. Predator and prey redefined. And through the middle of it all, a lonely, lost slugcat trying their best to outlast the ravages of a warped world.
