Australia, 15 July, 2025 | Indie Developer Shadow Council PTY has announced that the post-apocalyptic mobile MMORPG, Afterglow, has entered closed alpha testing! Be the first to experience the Wasteland in Afterglow and provide valuable feedback toward game development via an anonymous feedback form.
Afterglow is a mobile sandbox MMORPG set in a post-apocalyptic world with a 1980s theme. Set 77 years after a global nuclear war, players take the role of a refugee who has arrived in the American Southwest region. While trying to survive, they will encounter mysterious artifacts and phenomena that have reshaped the Wasteland.

ABOUT Shadow Council PTY & Afterglow
Shadow Council PTY is an Australian independent indie game development studio founded by Alex Shteinikov in 2024. Three design pillars guide everything we do: We create games that we genuinely enjoy ourselves, we develop games free from dark design practices, and we prioritize player experience over profit.
Afterglow is the first game we’re developing as a studio. However, it’s not the first project from our studio’s creator-back in 2014, he released a game called Tweeria, which was a semi-idle social RPG based on Twitter.
