Award-Winning Artist AURORA Returns to Sky: Children of the Light for Special Performance in AURORA: Homecoming

A Rare Opportunity to Participate in a Virtual Concert and Feel the Energy of Thousands of Players Together in Real Time

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – May 15, 2025 – Experience the magic of AURORA’s music, together once more. From June 9th to 22nd, the world of Sky: Children of the Light welcomes players back to the stadium in the skies for AURORA: Homecoming, a spectacular return of the record-breaking concert created in collaboration with the award-winning artist AURORA.

Guided by AURORA’s haunting, emotional voice, this special in-game event invites thousands of players–and for the first time, PC players on Steam–to gather in real time for a transcendent concert experience that blurs the lines between game and performance.

A Concert Unlike Any Other

Much like the children of Sky—born into a broken kingdom to bring healing through light—AURORA brings light through music. Held within the grand Coliseum nestled in the clouds, the concert is more than a show. It’s an emotional, immersive celebration of togetherness, blending music, visual storytelling, and shared player expression on a scale only possible in Sky.
AURORA’s original performance in 2023 brought over 10,000 players together simultaneously, earning a Guinness World Record for the most users in a concert-themed virtual world.

Celebrate AURORA’s Homecoming

This year’s event marks AURORA’s real-life return home to Norway following her world tour, timed with a community birthday celebration on June 15. It's also a celebration of the growing connection between Sky players and AURORA’s global fanbase—many of whom followed her from in-game experiences to real-world concerts across continents.

Even More to Explore

The Sky community has even more in store, thanks to a volunteer-organized group named AURORA 2.0 dedicated to bringing AURORA fans together year-round. On June 14th, AURORA 2.0 will host a community-wide livestream and concert event on thatgamecompany’s Twitch and YouTube channels in honor of AURORA’s upcoming birthday.

Players can also participate in:

  • Creating custom concert tickets to invite friends

  • Synchronized confetti emotes during the show

  • Community piano performances of “Happy Birthday”

  • Interviews with leaders of volunteer community groups

Whether in the game or watching the stream, join us in celebrating AURORA’s homecoming as one global Sky family.

How to Join the Celebration
  • All players are welcome—find the AURORA spirit in Aviary Village or the Realm Portals to participate.
  • Concerts will rotate every 2 hours daily beginning at 2am PDT.
  • Mini-games and a meditation space are available pre-and-post-concert.
  • Items and iconic looks from past years—including the AURORA wings—will return to the in-game shop for a limited time. These wings allow players to revisit the experience whenever they want, and share it while hand-in-hand with friends.
  • And don’t forget: this is the perfect time to try out your new dance emotes! The “Cure for Me” dance emote will also be available to unlock by visiting the Coliseum.

A Shared Experience That Transcends Screens

Unlike any other virtual event, AURORA: Homecoming is not a concert you sit back and watch—it’s one you live inside. With every note, every light, and every movement, players are invited to feel, express, and connect in a space that welcomes all.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to be part of something extraordinary. Join us in Sky from June 9–22 and take flight in a concert experience unlike anything else in gaming.
