Sarpsborg, Norway — 21 September 2026 — Amazing Games today opened the Steam page for Age of Transport – Blue Marble, a transport and industry simulation built on a 1:4 scale model of the real Earth, with more than 70,000 real cities across 35 million km² of terrain. The game is scheduled for Early Access in 2027.
Where the genre usually treats the railway as a way to earn money, Blue Marble removes currency from the economy altogether. Cost is work: a locomotive is manufactured from a boiler, a frame and wheelsets that trace back to ore the player hauled themselves. A poorly planned junction does not cost cash — it means the city behind it goes unfed.
The simulation runs on operational detail rather than abstraction. Trains are dispatched rather than assigned to routes. Classification yards hump and sort. Track is built from rail, sleepers, fastenings and ballast, and a line is only as good as the weakest of the four. Ships and aircraft carry the same treatment, including a pre-jet seaplane roster reflecting an era when almost no runways existed anywhere on Earth.
Worlds are persistent and shared. Up to 255 companies operate on a single planet that keeps running whether players are logged in or not, with worlds remaining open to spectators and visiting players.
