Zelda Symphonic Project ZREO is Back with Second Quest and New Single

Fan-favorite orchestral project ZREO is back with a new single of "Hyrule Field" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time featuring string quartet ATLYS

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA - DECEMBER 17, 2021 - After nearly ten years, the fan-favorite Zelda symphonic arrangement project ZREO is back with ZREO: Second Quest, a continuation of the high-quality symphonic arrangements of music from The Legend of Zelda series that the ZREO team has been known for since its inception in 2004. ZREO: Second Quest features the talents of arranger Ari Fisher along with producers Samuel Ferrara (founder of the original ZREO project) and Jeron Moore (producer on The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses international tour), and the team has partnered with string quartet, ATLYS, to produce a stunning virtuoso arrangement of "Hyrule Field" from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, now available ahead of a full symphonic album release coming in 2022:

"Hyrule Field" feat. ATLYS was created during the COVID-19 pandemic at a time when various lock-downs and social isolations were in effect. Due to this limitation, musicians all over the world began “remote recording” from home with professional recording equipment. The necessity of working from home has allowed the ZREO: Second Quest team to partner with musicians from all corners of the globe to help produce these arrangements while at the same time supporting working musicians during difficult times.

“Videogame music deepened my devotion and love of music," notes arranger Ari Fisher. "Ocarina of Time was my introduction to the Legend of Zelda universe. I loved the music instantly. 'Hyrule Field' feat. ATLYS was a special piece to me. It was originally a virtuoso arrangement for two violins, but producers Samuel Ferrara and Jeron Moore encouraged me to expand this piece for a fuller string section while remaining true to the vision of Koji Kondo’s orchestral version. ATLYS is the only group I’ve met that truly understands my music; an ensemble of friends that I trust musically and professionally, and I have dedicated this piece to ATLYS for their inspiration and loyal friendship.”

“The energy and spirit of this music have captured generations, and to play it in such pure form as a string quartet is nothing short of exhilarating,” says Sabrina Tabby, violinist of ATLYS. “It is so vividly apparent how much heart Ari and Sam have poured into this project and makes it effortless for us to do the same. This is just the beginning!”
