No expansion in Mythgard would be complete without a story. The Winter War sees the six factions of Mythgard both divided and united to create the Alliance and the Rebellion. Your allegiance towards either group will play into the game, from the deck building process through to your in-match interactions.
Alliance focussed decks look to control the board and overpower their opponents, whereas Rebellion decks may have 'smaller numbers', but look to turn the tide with powerful minions.
With Mythgard's story growing over the past 18 months, developers Rhino Games, Inc. have released a lore focussed video to bring players up to speed with the world of Mythgard.

Along with the release of The Winter War, Mythgard will also enter its first competitive season. The season will be broken down into six ranked ladder seasons and six qualification tournaments, which will take place between the ranked ladder seasons.
Rhino Games, Inc. made a point to emphasize that players can qualify for the Mythgard World Championship by either competing in ranked ladder matches or through the individual qualification tournaments. The Mythgard World Championship will be held in December 2021 and will see the top 16 players of Mythgard go head-to-head for a share of the $20,000 prize pool.
