Unveiling Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports

Hinwil, 9 June 2023 – There’ll be a new player in the game this season, as Sauber Esports and KICK announce a title partnership that will see the ambitious streaming site help create Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports. The team will tackle the F1 Esports Pro Championship in this guise, as it aims to bring the World Championship trophy to Hinwil for the first time in the team’s history.

The partnership is a natural development for KICK, currently the fastest-growing live streaming site, as it continues its expansion into esports which is a key part of the platform’s long term growth strategy. The link-up with Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports will allow both brands to explore synergies and continue reaching out to a young, engaged and global audience.

The Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports drivers, whose line-up will be announced soon, will switch to streaming exclusively on KICK, with between two and five hours of weekly content to be made available on their own channels on the platform. With the C43 being KICK-branded in the F1 23 game, this will provide a fresh approach and unparalleled visibility to the partnership, while also highlighting KICK’s unique, creator-centric approach. One of KICK’s most prominent features is its 95-5 split, where creators retain 95% of the revenue generated from their subscriptions – the most rewarding financial split content creators have ever been offered, to date.

Founded in October 2022, kick.com is based on a creator-first model. KICK’s beta launch saw an astounding 200,000 sign-ups in little more than 24 hours since the platform went live. In just six months, the platform has managed to attract top entertainers and streamers, with more than five million active registered users as of May 2023. The growth of Kick.com has been rapid, with over 100 million visits on the platform just in the last month.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Team Representative: “The strategy for our Esports team is one of growth, and this partnership with KICK will help us in this direction, bringing us in front of a new audience and a completely different demographic. There is a natural link between streamers and gamers, and it’s natural for leading brands in both fields to come together. I am looking forward to seeing our esports content in its new home and to reach out to a completely new set of future fans. This group is key to the future not just of esports, but of Formula One in general: it’s the new fans that will become enthralled with the sport in all its forms, those who will use esports as a low-barrier-to-access avenue to try racing for the first time, and even, in some cases, those who will make a successful transition from sim-racing and esports into real racing. Most young drivers are also sim-racing enthusiasts and we are doing all we can to bridge the shrinking gap between these two worlds.”

Akhil Sarin, Director of Acquisition kick.com: “We are thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with Alfa Romeo F1 Team KICK Esports, where we look to redefine the way, the world engages on esports. Together with Sauber Motorsport’s esports team, we aim to unlock a new era of immersive gaming experience, connecting fans worldwide like never before. With KICK’s continued platform advancements and the team’s unparalleled skill, there is no doubt this will create an experience of thrilling gameplay while captivating audiences by fuelling their passion for esports. Esports enthusiasts can look forward to witnessing the future of gaming, where every moment is electrifying, and every victory is celebrated in real-time.”
